Introduction-
India is a democratic country. Democracy is the government of the people, for the people, and by the people. People have a right to choose their leader. In our democracy, the role of the Prime Minister has the greatest importance. He leads the whole country. Our Prime Minister, Narendra Damodardas Modi is the 15th Prime Minister of India. He is a leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He remained the Chief Minister of Gujrat from 2001 to 2014. He was elected the Member of Parliament from Varanasi.
His Early Life-
Narendra Modi was born on 17th September 1950 in a family of grocers in Vadnagar of Mehsana district. He attained the degree of M.A. in Political Science from the Gujrat University in Ahmedabad. His father’s name was Damodardas Mulchand Modi and his mother’s name is Heeraben. He gained his higher Secondary Education in Vadnagar in 1967. As a child, Modi helped his father in selling tea at Vadnagar Railway Station. Modi left home at the age of 17 and joined Ramkrishna Mission Ashram in Rajkot.
His Political Career-
Narendra Modi joined the Pro Hindu Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) in the early 1970s and he took a conscious decision to devote his life to his serving the nation. This organization helped him in making his political career. In 1974 he become an active participant in The Navnirman Movements; a youth movement. This movement was against corruption in Gujrat. In 1978 the RSS appointed him as “Vibhag Prachark” in Vadodara and Central Gujrat.
His Virtues-
He played a significant role and ensured BJP’s first win in the Ahmedabad Municipal corporation election in 1987. A year later he was made the General Secretary of the Gujrat branch of the party. He helped the BJP to achieve success in the 1995 State Legislative Assembly elections. In 1995 he was made the secretary of the BJP National Organization in New Delhi. In October 2001 he became the Chief Minister of Gujrat. After this Modi’s Political career remained a mixture of deep controversy and self-promoted achievements. On 26th May 2014, he was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
His Work-
Our Prime Minister Modi is a man of strong willpower. He started his journey as the son of a tea-seller and now he has become the Prime Minister. He loves his mother very much and respects her. He is a very hard-working man. The other countries are also very much impressed with his work. They invite him and also want to work with him. He has given many jobs to the unemployed people of India. He encourages all the sportspersons as well as soldiers.
Narendra Modi is making his stern efforts to make India a prosperous country. A committee has been set up under the leadership of retired SC judge M.B. Shah to bring back the black money that has flown out of India since independence. Modi is trying to form the world’s first ISO 9001 certified government. He has made a visit to Pakistan, China, Bhutan Bangladesh, etc. for the welfare of our country.
Major Schemes by Modi Government-
Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sinchayee Yojana and Krishi Amdani Beema Yojana have been launched for farmers. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was launched by Modi on 22nd January 2015 at Panipat, Haryana. Modi’s govt wants to become a nation of jobs given more than job seekers. Modi said that our destiny is to serve Maa Ganga so he started a mission to clean it. Rural Electrification is on the move at a rapid pace. Modi’s government-supported NGOs and other communities in the creation of groundwater conservation projects like Atal Bhoojal Yojana etc. He is working on a plan to introduce a universal Health Care System known as the National Health Assurance Mission. He has almost eliminated the water problem in India. Modi has started’’Make in India Programme’ in which he advises us to make things in India and not to use foreign products.

We Indians are proud for having such a diligently prime minister in the form of Honourable Narendra Modi who is working consistently for the welfare of our country.
