He prepared a roadmap for independent India.  In this regard, he directed Rajas to get out of the suzerainty agreement and suggested Provinces to demand their provincial autonomy through bicameralism and division of power.  Thus he made colonial India a federation first then turned it into a dominion to achieve its sovereignty or independence.

Gandhi Ji also organized various other successful Satyagraha movements such as the Champaran Movement of Bihar (1917), the Kheda Movement of Gujarat (1918), Khilafat Movement (1919), Non -cooperation Movement(1920), and Quit India Movement (1942). Among them, the Quit India Movement was a very powerful and successful movement that was launched by Gandhi Ji in retaliation for the failure of the Cripps Mission. In this movement, a resolution was passed on the 4th of July 1942 at Wardha which plans to end the colonization of British India.

Gandhi Ji’s Principle-

Gandhi Ji’s idealism is based upon satyagraha, non-violence, Sarvodaya, charity, self-sufficiency, prohibition, service to mankind, humanity, the concept of education, etc. He believed in ‘simple living and high thinking’.

As per Gandhi Ji’s conception of God, it may be noticed that he regards God as truth, fearlessness, and the source of light in life. He said love is another name of non-violence. Progressive individualism is the fundamental note of Gandhian life and thought.

“HAPPINESS IS WHEN  WHAT YOU THINK, WHAT YOU SAY,

AND WHAT YOU DO ARE IN HARMONY.”

Gandhi Ji was of the firm opinion that political democracy without economic democracy was meaningless and was akin to a ‘ship without a rudder.’ He was aware of the widening trench between the rich and the poor. He suggested that means of production and distribution should be controlled by the capitalist,  but he should hold the wealth as the trustee of the society. He gave ‘CHARKHA’ to the Indian people as a symbol of self-sufficiency.

“THE BEST WAY TO FIND YOURSELF IS TO LOSE YOURSELF IN THE SERVICE OF OTHERS.”

Gandhi Ji preferred decentralization of power and self-sufficient villages to give equal voice to all. He promotes socialism that is based on equal opportunity to all the people of India with equal resources.

“NO CULTURE CAN LIVE IF IT ATTEMPTS TO BE EXCLUSIVE.”

He realized the issues of the lower castes and worked for their upliftment. he said there must be a value system rather than a caste system. Gandhi Ji referred to ‘UNTOUCHABLES’ by the word ‘HARIJAN’, a term first used by great saint Narasinha Mehta.

“MY FIGHT AGAINST ‘UNTOUCHABILITY’ IS A FIGHT AGAINST THE IMPURE IN HUMANITY.”

In his point of view, nothing in this world is completely wrong even a useless watch also tells us the right time twice a day.

Conclusion-

Therefore, until the planet Earth exists, Mahatma Gandhi would be remembered forever as a Messiah who helped in achieving the sovereignty of the Indian people. His idealism inspired various leaders and youth not only in India but also outside of India.
